Just trying to find the right words now… it’s always been baffling to me that so many people don’t naturally care for others. And I don’t just mean the people directly around you, but everyone. Why aren’t we genuinely concerned with the well-being of others? Can you tell me why when you see people inflicting pain and torture on others why your reaction isn’t “How horrendous. What can I do?”

We all live on the same planet, none of us asked to be here, and yet our governments think it’s okay to exploit people, to torture and kill people in the most horrific ways all for… profit. How disgusting. If you aren’t outraged you are not paying attention so let me make it very clear for you;

Our government and many others if not most only care about putting money in their pockets. Everyone and everything else is collateral damage.

If you are reading this, then you’re someone living on the same planet as the people who are facing these torments. You are lucky because you are here and not there. You are lucky because instead of being exploited for the resources you live on, you’re the consumer that is paying for the outcome of stealing those resources.

We don’t get to choose where we are born or where we come from. But we do get to choose how we respond to the awful things going on around us. We do have a choice.

It is purposeful that we feel helpless, we are told that we are one person, what difference could we make? I’d like to point out that that may be true… one person alone can’t change the world… but a collection of people coming together can. (That’s what we call organizing). That’s why speaking up and having these conversations are SO important. (Cont in comments👇)

This last month has exposed people for who they are and what they really believe in.

Heartbreaking the lack of “friends” who have checked in or even showed support.

Heartbreaking the selective activism from all those who felt the pressure during other movements, like BLM, to post in support, but now when Palestinians are begging you to post on social media, there is only silence. You cannot fight for one cause and stay silent in another. You have shown your support for past causes is only for show.

This time is very telling and if you are still willingly choosing silence, SHAME.

We will not forget. Be on the right side of history.
