Hi friends! It’s been a while since we last talked- and a lot has happened. The most exciting news- I started my own business! I’ve decided to begin making my own bar soap to bring natural and healing ingredients to more people.
I decided to start my own business for two reasons. One, it’s my dream to be my own boss, and two, I want to help bring sustainability to the forefront of business operations. It’s SO important for businesses to take care of how they operate, from the very beginning of making the product to the customer disposing of it. I want to help lead in this sector and inspire others to lead with sustainability in mind, no matter what your business goals are.
That being said, I want to share with you my new business venture – Farah Soap! My goal is to share beautiful & natural skincare products that work to heal your skin using ingredients that are beneficial for you and the planet. All packaging is 100% zero-waste and can be planted, composted, or recycled. All the paper I use is made with seeds sown in them, so all you need to do is plant them in the ground, water, and wait for nature to grow!
Now, that’s just part of my business model. The other half is education. I believe in the power of educating others, and I know that when more people are educated, we are closer to a just society. Learning about social and environmental justice is so so important for today’s world. When you are educated, you’re able to see the injustices that are going on around you, but more than that, you are able to brainstorm ways that we can change the system.
I don’t believe things have to stay the way they are. But in order to grow and change these structures, we need always to be willing to learn. Change is a good thing, and we desperately need it. And I believe, no matter what, we’re going to get it.
So this is my message to you: Get involved, put your money where your mouth is, and support businesses that support us back, and more than anything – keep learning! I know you’ve heard this before, but it’s so real: You are the change.
I hope this has inspired you, and I wish you great luck on your journey towards sustainability. We are in this together- you are NOT alone!
